Stem Cell Facelift – Courtney Love New venture?
It has been reported that Courtney Love, 46, has undergone “stem-cell facelift.” In This procedure, the patient’s own fat is injected it into the face to create a fuller and more youthful appearance. The stem cell facelift has become increasingly popular recently, promising n the cosmetic arena.
Famed Beverly Hills Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Payman Simoni, who has not treated Courtney Love, believes Stem cell facelift is shaping the future of facelifts.
Stem cells are multipotential cells which can transform many different cells in the location they are transplanted. They are thought to stimulate, repair, and rejuvenate adjacent older and damage tissues.
To This date, the machines to separate stem cells from fat are not currently FDA-approved for cosmetic procedures. Thus, Dr. Simoni only injects a patient’s own fat which contains plenty of stem cells to the face without stem-cell processing. Dr. Simoni explains that there is no hard evidence that more stem cells than the concentration normally contained in a patient’s fat have any more advantage.
Courtney Love is reportedly an early beneficiary of fat transfer. According to MakeMeHeal, she has breast implants, has had and two or three nose jobs may have gotten liposuction, and often gets lip-plumping injections.
A writer for the Daily Mail in England recently reported said: “Courtney Love looked at least a decade younger … when she performed at a concert in Poland last month –- and now I can reveal why. The singer has been paying visits to a Manhattan plastic surgeon who has been performing a new form of cosmetic surgery called the stem-cell facelift, in which a patient’s complexion is revamped using their own grafted fat tissue. The treatment, which lasts five years, plumps up and tightens the skin and stops the neck from sagging.”
Dr. Simoni prefers using the patient’s own the synthetic or dermal fillers. A person’ own fat it has shown to last longer. On average 30- 50 percent of the grafted fat can last over 7 years. Since it is the patient’s own fat, there is no risk of reaction or rejection, and most patients are happy to lose those extra fat pockets from the lower body.
Fat injection like many other plastic surgery procedures should be done by an experienced surgeon. If done wrong, the results of the procedure can be disappointing at the least. Placement of fat in the wrong area could cause irregularities, lumps, swelling, bruising, asymmetry, infection, or decreases the fat viability.
However, it is important for people to know that fat transfer is an unpredictable procedure. It is impossible to predict exactly how long each fat transfer will last in every person because there are many factors plays in the longevity of transferred fat such as genetic factors, stress, smoking, and age. It is prudent to find a skilled surgeon, so your chance of a positive outcome increases and rate of complications decrease. But it is worth nothing that even in the best of hands, complications do occur.”
